On November 16th, I submitted a public record request for the contracts that the city had entered into with the two law firms that they had hired to represent the city commisison and the city in the Melreese Golf Course contract with Jorge Mas, and how much they had paid these firms so far.

Just a few minutes ago, 26 days after I submitted by request I got copies of the contracts and the spread sheets detailing the costs as of October 30th for Shutts & Bowen, September 30th for Fowler White Burnett, and October 8th for O'Melveny & Myers.

It ippears that the contract with White Fowler Burnette also includes O'Melveny & Myers.

Since we're now at December 11th, with this this contract coming up for another discussion at tomorrow's commissione meeting, the chances are that the amount to date, $561,979.36, might veryt easily have gone past $700,000.00 by now.

I can't explain why it took 24 days to comply with this request, but I'm posting this ASAP, so that those who are interested can at least have this modicum of information.
