Back in July I wrote a story about Eddy Leal, who is Mayor's Francis Suarez's attorney, and ended it by calling him a moron.

That story had to do with Leal's involvement in a nasty case involving the now torn down Babylon apartment building in the Brickell area, and the unhappiness with folks in neighboring building over the efforts of the owner, represented by Berkow's law firm in trying to get a waiver to allow a much larger building to be built in it's place.

The upshot of the fight was that Berkow filed an ethics complaint against Leal, and although he later withdrew it, the case for other reasons ended up being heard by the Ethis Commission which ruled in Leal's favor.

As the prevailing party, several days ago, Leal filed a motion with the Commission for legal fees.

While I temporarily withdraw my opinion that Leal is a moron, I think he needs to reconsider his decision to tie his wagon to the political fortunes of Francis Suarez.
