CITY BUSINESSES MUST NOW COMPETE WITH COMPETITORS WHO ARE GETTING PROMOTIONAL PLUGS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
Another bad habit that seems to have started occurring since Colonel Klink has become the City Manager is his use of social media to promote specific businesses, like restaurants he eats at.
If he was doing this as a private citizen, there would be no problem, but he's doing this on what is clearly his City Manager Twitter page, and with the imprimatur of his official position.
Another great Colonel's lunch at the Sabor a Peru Restaurant in Wynwood/Edgewater. @CityofMiami has an incredibly diverse ethnic food scene & we are always happy to support the Magic City's small businesses. Great night out @CityofMiami MiMo's newest restaurant. Standing room only at La Placita. Great food, ambiance, providing jobs, revitalizing neighborhood and strengthening the cultural fabric of our Magic City. #LaplacitaMiami pic.twitter.com/JIM57PqoxI

The Colonel is not the only one who is starting to do this. Art Noreiga, the Executive Director of the Miami Parking Authority, or people on his staff have also been using the MPA's Official Facebook page to tout restaurants.
Given that the Miami Parking Authority just got the city to increase parking rates, you would think that maybe a better use of Facebook would be to explain to residents how to register to avoid having to pay these increased rates, and to visitors to explain why they're being hosed in the Magic City.
The one thing you can almost bet the farm on, is that none of these promotional plugs are going to folks who aren't pals of either the Colonel or Art, because,
It's Miami, Bitches!
