THERE'S A NEW PAC IN TOWN

The above PAC was recently created to help finance Reiner Diaz de la Portilla's campaign for the county commission seat his brother Alex ran for and lost against Eileen "La Gringa" Higgins two years ago.

As to be expected with anything that involves these Diaz de la Portillas and government, it took less than a month for Reiner's PAC to receive it's First Notice of a failure to follow the rules.

It's petty shit, but Alex Diaz de la Portilla has a long history of engaging in petty bullshit that involves ignoring, bending or just breaking the campaign rules, and it looks like Reiner's PAC is going to pick up where Alex left off.

In a story last week I wrote that Alex Diax de la Portilla had collected $133,500 in donations to his PAC since February of this year, demonstrating a rapaciousness for shaking down any and everyone looking for favors or support at City Hall.

Now that little brother Reiner is running against Eileen "La Gringa" Higgins in a family rematch for the District 5 County Commission seat that he lost two years ago, it would seem that besides strong arming folks who need his help or support, Alex is extending his arm twisting to help Reiner raise money.

Here is the list of the first donors to Reiner's new PAC.

The biggest donor so far is, Pristine DE LLC, who donated a total of $80,000.

Who owns Pristine DE LLC, is a mystery, because there is no company by that name is registered with the Florida Secretary of State.

The address however, does reveal that whoever owns the company is represented by attorney William Riley, whose office at 1671 NW 16th Terrace is just a few blocks away from Alex Diaz de la Portilla's warehouse at 1481 NW 22nd Street.

LAN Downtown LLC, who donated $25,000, is one of a number of corporations owned by Aabad Melwani, holder of the lease for the city owned Rickenbacker Marina, and someone who over the years has been treated like an ATM machine by folks such as Francis Suarez, Joe Carollo and Alex Diaz de la Portilla giving them tens and tens of thousands of dollars over the last few years.

Edgewater Management Services has been around for a while, and it is another problematic front for someone(s) who don't want to reveal who they are, but who none the less wants to buy influence.

According to Dunn & Bradstreet, this "company" has 1 employee and "generates $54,157 in sales."

A lack of income did not seem to stop this "company" from donation a total of $41,000 to candidates for county office including Raquel Regalado and Xavier Suarez, another $10,000 to Francis Suarez's campaign for Strong Mayor in 2018, and $15,000 to Alex Diax de la Portilla's PAC in time for his runoff for Miami City Commission.

Shortly after announcing that he was running for the county commission seat held by Higgins, Diaz de la Portilla sent out the following Tweet.

What he failed to include in this tweet is that in order to collect this money he sat next to brother Alex as Alex let it be known - allegedly sometimes openly, and sometime by inference - to those that they met with that a donation to brother Renier's campaign would go a long way towards his favorable assistance for whatever they wanted from the city

To see who's donating to Renier's campaign, and here is the list of those who donated the $116,050..
