DO YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS ANOTHER "SPECIAL" CITY COMMISSION MEETING TOMORROW, AND THAT THE AGENDA ONLY LISTS 3 "DISCUSSION" ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY SUMMARY OR LEGISLATION? ONCE AGAIN THIS REVEALS A FLAGRANT ABUSE OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT THE CITY COMMISSION IS UP TO DURING THIS TIME OF CRISIS

There is no excuse or justification for what has been going on at Miami City Hall, as the Boy-Toy Mayor Francis Suarez, conspires with his hand-picked new BFF, Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla.
For the 2nd time in less than 2 months there will be a "SPECIAL" city commission meeting held without any legislation or documentation being provided on what is actually going to be discussed other than HOMELESS ISSUES, FOOD DISTRIBUTION AND MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
How can anyone who cares or even interested in what these city commissioners are up to be in a position to make "informed comments" about issues, or decisions that will come from this meeting?
At last week's commission meeting there was some discussion, and dissatisfaction with the activities of the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust, run by lobbyist Ron Book, who has long treated the Trust as his personal fiefdom and piggy bank, and every time he has appeared before it in recent years - which hasn't been many - but on this agenda item I believe that this is going to be a staged event that allows Book to bob-and-weave and pile up a new collection of lies and half-truths as he once again bamboozles the commissioners.
The very fact that there is no revelation as to what the intention of Diaz de la Portilla, or the mayor, is in making this a "discussion item" at what is essentially a semi-secret meeting denies the opportunity for a real, and serious discussion on the problem of homelessness in Miami, with all, or at least many of the stakeholders cannot, and will not happen tomorrow.
When it comes to the issue of food distribution I haven't a clue as to what that might entail, and when it comes to the airport, I would suspect that this will end up being an extension of the pissing match between Francis Suarez and Carlos Gimenez not only over the dueling letters to to the President about stopping people from other countries from flung into the airport, or the announced intention of Gimenez to rename the airport the Miami-Dade International Airport.
In shot, it's probably just going to be a waste of oxygen and time while the list of real items that the commission needs to start focusing on continues to pile up, and the public's money gets spent on what have essentially become private contract deals.
In other words, it's just another day in It's Miami, Bitches!
HERE ARE THE PAGES FOR THE DISCUSSION ITEM AGENDA SUMMARY AND LEGISLATION FOR THE 3 ITEMS FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING.
