About the only good thing that can be said about Joe Carollo is that because he has a big mouth, and a big ego, he can't keep secrets, and if you pay attention to what he says at City Commission meetings he'll usually tell you what scheme he thinking about pulling long before he actually does it.

The unfortunate part of that is that although he does telegraph his moves, the morons in the city's administration keep standing around with one thumb up their ass, and the other one in their mouth, and keep hoping no one will see them when they decide to change where they stick their fingers.

In my March 12th story I speculated how Carollo's initial vote to allow the soccer stadium referendum to go on the ballot might have been a first step in a double-cross against the DeLucca's - who currently have the lease on the golf course - and Jorge Mas.

At the last commission meeting, Carollo, while going along with the request by Commissioner Reyes that the Suarez administration not only agree that the commission be the ones to select the individual, or individuals who would negotiate a contract with the Beckham Group for the Melreese property, but that a draft contract had to be provided to the commission by their first meeting in September.

After much back and forth, Commissioner "Sellout" Russell, whose behavior and vote in allowing this proposal to go to a referendum vote last year earned him the nickname of "Sellout," kept asking what would happen if this deadline was not met.

From previous comments he made during the discussion, Carollo openly revealed that he wants to see a big shopping mall built on the property, and if the property is opened up for an RFP, then there will not be a need, or requirement of taking that proposal before the voters for a referendum vote like the last referendum vote that was required for Jorge Mas and the Beckham Group to take the property over.

So here's what Crespodamas predicts as a result of Carollo's revelations.

First, Carollo is going to try and control the selection of the negotiators, or negotiating team that will negotiate the contract with the Beckham Group.

Secondly, behind the scenes he will try every which way possible for the negotiations not to be completed by the September 12th deadline.

Third, he will make his motion to open the process up for bid on September 12th.

Fourth, you can bet that Carollo has already, or if he hasn't, he will have before the time the selection of a developer is made, and Carollo will then weld whatever power he needs to to make sure that his developers wins the RFP Bid.

How will he do that?

Because between now and then, he will have wielded his wrecking ball to get Colonel Klink fired - not that that is that big a hurdle since the Colonel does not currently have many supporters on the commission as a result of his high-handed and self-aggrandizing behavior - and after that he will again, using his bullying tactics, make sure that the Boy Mayor's selection for the Colonel's replacement will meet his approval.

None of this is complicated. All you need to do is watch the commission meetings, and pay attention to what is actually being said by Carollo, because like I said, he's got a big mouth, and people with big mouth's can't resist telegraphing their moves.

Each of these guys has the kind of shit eating grin that makes you believe that one of them thinks he's fucking the other. That's true, but odds are that David Beckham will be the screwee, and not the screwer.
