This email, I thought would be the end of my activity's last night, but no, as crazy as it seems, Carollo was not through throwing his weight around, nor were the City Manager, the City Attorney and all of the other elected officials through with groveling around on the ground pretending that it was shit and not shinola that they were rolling in.

On top of every thing else, word was circulated last night to some of the businesses on Calle Ocho, informing them that the street would be closed to traffic from 14th to 17th Avenue on Friday evening.

You got to understad how crazy and serious this last minute decision to close SW 8th Street is.

First, the street is a federal highway, and city commissioners can't go around closing federal highways at the last minute over musical events.

Secondly, the original permit that was issued did not include any permission to shut a street - any street, much less SW 8th Street - down at the last minute without proper notification to residents and business owners, and especially on a Friday night when a lot of folks use SW 8th Street to get to the Brickell area or to Miami Beach.

Although there are a lot of people at the top of Miami City government - starting with Colonel Klink and the Boy Mayor who are afraid of their shadows, there are people in the trenches who are fed up with the constant disruption and bullshit that Carollo is causing, and one of those sources provided me with information last night that Carollo had held an emergency meeting with a handful of officials around noon on Thursday to inform them that his event had gotten so out of hand that he wanted to shut down SW 8th Street.

He was told that he couldn't do that, for the same reasons that I listed above, but when he continued to demand that it had to be done, he was told that if there was any possibility it would require an emergency request to FDOT signed by the City Manager and the Chief of Police.

Given that both of these suck asses would probably sign their autographs on somebody's dick if Carollo told them to, it is believed that such an emergency request was hand delivered to FDOT, and we'll all have to wait and see whether the bureaucrats at FDOT are as wishy-washy the the city big shots.

What's really interesting - there's no sense saying that anything having to do with Carollo is amazing anymore - is that a lot of what Carollo has been doing, falls under the legal term of ULTRA VIRES.

While the term ULTRA VIERES is more often used to refer to acts taken by a corporation or officers of a corporation that are taken outside of the powers or authority granted to them by law or under the corporate charter, it also applies to public officials.

Another way to describe what this term means is abuse of power, and if there is one thing that has become abundantly clear since Carollo has been back in office is that he operates on the principle of abusing power until someone steps up to challenge him.

Francis Suarez could have derailed Carollo last November, but it was his cowardice to call for his supporters to vote for Alfie Leon, or to use any of the $1 million he had in his PAC, that allowed Carollo to squeak his way back to City Hall.

In many ways Francis Suarez, City Manager Emilio "Colonel Klink" Gonzalez, Commissioner Ken "Sellout" Russel, and the rest of the weak kneed cowards at City Hall deserve Joe Carollo running rough shot over them, but unfortunately, the folks that don't deserve it are the residents of the city.

For them, Carollo exhibits some of the same bad habits that Donal Trump exhibits.

He lies, he manipulates, he's allegedly racist based on claims about comments that he's been heard to make in private, and while he proclaims to be concerned about the fact that the city is in need of money, he, more than any other commissioner is going out of his way to spend taxpayer dollars like a drunken sailor in a whore house.

Joe Carollo is not stupid, but too many people give him far more credit than he deserves for being some smart, crafty political operator.  At the end of the day Carollo is just a loud mouthed bully playing in a sandbox filled with 3rd graders afraid that he's going to take their lunch money.

There's only one way to deal with a guy like Carollo, and that's for the 3rd graders to understand that if they stick together, they can whip his ass and chase him down the street.

Carollo might throw teapots at women, but he's not going to kill anyone, and he damn sure is going to eat them, so to quote a president who had his own Carollo's to deal with, "The only thing to fear, is fear itself."

That holds true, even in It's Miami, Bitches!
